Liberal Democrats have selected Greg Mulholland to be their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in Leeds North West. Greg is one of the 6 Liberal Democrat Councillors in Leeds North West, and lives in the constituency.
Greg is a leading campaigner for the Lib Dems in Leeds and has been leading a petition with other Lib Dem Councillors protesting against the 'Unfair Charging' Care Charges that have been introduced by Leeds Labour Council.
With incumbent MP, Labour rebel Harold Best MP, due to stand down at the next election, the seat is up for grabs. And the Liberal Democrat claim to it has been boosted by the result in the May 2003 elections which saw the Liberal Democrats win a clear majority across the constituency.
Greg commented, "Throughout Leeds North West, and the rest of the country, the message is increasingly clear: people are sick and tired of the other two parties and they are crying out for a change. And the Liberal Democrats, as the Effective Opposition here in Leeds and across the country are ready to give them that change."
