LEEDS STUDENT WON'T BE SEEN FOR DUST IN NATIONAL SCIENCE COMPETITION

December 12, 2005 12:00 AM

This week in Parliament, Greg Mulholland met with a local Leeds student who was in Westminster to present his entry for a national science competition. Hossein Ahmadian, a postgraduate engineering student from the University of Leeds, met with Greg to discuss his entry into the SET for Britain (Science, Engineering and Technology) competition.

Hossein was presenting a poster depicting his research into enzyme dust formation. He was selected from over 200 other applicants to present a poster in Parliament.

Commenting, Greg said:

"With the benefits of engineering research all around us, it's important to help support that development in any way I can.

"It's incredibly reassuring for the future of British engineering to meet a young scientist like Hossein who has such a talent and passion for the subject.

"I wish him all the best for his future work."

If you are a resident of the Leeds North West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
