As Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, joins the campaign for England to bid for the 2018 World Cup Finals, he meets with World Cup football legend Geoff Hurst in Westminster to discuss what more can be done to encourage young people to take up the sport. Sir Geoff, who was in Westminster to promote football, met with MPs to discuss what more can be done to encourage the game at grass roots level.
Commenting, Greg said:
"It was a real pleasure to meet a sporting legend who has played such a crucial part in this country's sporting history.
"Holding the world cup was incredible but I hope it won't be too much longer before a future England team get their hands on it!"
"The finals in 1966 were unique but the finals in 2018 could inspire a whole new generation and I hope to help make that happen."
