Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, attended yesterday's Hyde Park Unity Day. Greg was invited to present the winner's trophy in a Kabaddi tournament, which took place as part of Hyde Park Unity Day.
The Kabaddi match, which was held for the first time at Hyde Park Unity Day, was between northern rivals Leeds and Manchester. The match between the two teams was held on Woodhouse Moore on Sunday 11th September.
Greg was asked to present the trophiy to the winning team - which was Leeds, who beat Manchester 20-14.
Commenting on the tournament at Hyde Park Unity Day, Greg said:
"I think I speak on behalf of everyone who attended when I say that the Kabaddi match really did add something to Hyde Park Unity Day."
"It was great to see that the event attracted much interest from people from a variety of different backgrounds."
"I was delighted to be invited to present the winning trophies. I was particularly pleased see that Leeds was (of course!) victorious, which is appropriate for the first Kabaddi match to take place at Hyde Park Unity Day. I hope this is the first of many to come!"
