Greg Mulholland, who was elected on May 5th to represent the constituency of Leeds North West has been officially sworn in as a new MP in Parliament. Members of both Houses of Parliament are required by law to take an oath of allegiance to the Crown on taking their seat in Parliament. Until the oath/affirmation is taken, a Member may not sit in the House or vote.
Commenting later Greg said:
"I'm delighted to officially take my seat in Parliament.
"I owe a great debt of gratitude to the people of Leeds, who have given me the privilege of representing them.
"I pledge to do everything I can to represent the interests of local people in every part of the constituency."
