Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, quizzed the Minister for Schools, Jim Knight MP, in Parliament today, on how the Government plans to reduce primary school class sizes.
Greg said:
"My wife is a primary school teacher and I have been alarmed at the number of times that she has told me that she has had to teach classes of more than 30 pupils.
"Research carried out by the University of London in 2003 proved that reducing class sizes were beneficial for all children, and that it had the most positive impact on the kids who struggle the most.
"The Government must act to reduce class sizes so teachers are able to give our children the education they need, and deserve."
