Leeds MP, Greg Mulholland, has expressed his delight at his selection to be a Vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Rugby League. Mr Mulholland said "I am honoured to have been awarded this privilege.
Rugby League is an exciting and dynamic sport that I am extremely passionate about and enjoy immensely. In my new capacity I hope to promote and support the sport, both within my constituency and nationally"
Greg will also be attending the opening of the new Carnegie stand on the 1st of September. The stand will provide a further 4,500 capacity for spectators at Leeds Tykes and Leeds Rhino's games. The new Carnegie stand will also incorporate 12 seminar rooms for the use of up to 350 students, due to the pioneering relationship between Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds Rugby. Commenting Greg said:
"This is an exciting development for Leeds Rugby and Leeds Metropolitan University. The new stand is an excellent facility that will benefit rugby fans and students alike."
