Leeds MP Greg Mulholland is hosting a breakfast seminar in Parliament next week, in conjunction with Universities UK, to discuss the key issues which affect students and the local communities in which they live.
The event, titled 'Students and communities living in Harmony?' on Tuesday 27th June, will provide the opportunity for members of key organisations, including Professor Diana Green, Vice Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University and Baroness Andrews, the Minister of State for Housing, to come together and discuss the critical challenges and issues facing these communities.
Commenting on the event Greg said:
"I am very pleased to be hosting such a worthwhile and valuable discussion; it is a wonderful opportunity to highlight and consider the critical issues which face both students and the communities in which they live.
First as a Councillor for a ward such as Headingley in Leeds which has a thriving student community, and then of course as the MP for the area, I am well aware of many of these issues and the importance and relevance of such discussion.
I am also delighted to be able to assist in highlighting both the positive work that Universities, local authorities and residential communities are doing together to address some of these key issues."
