Following today's Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) report into the 7/7 bombings Leeds MP Greg Mulholland has called for a full public enquiry to be held in order to address key questions which remain unanswered. There are renewed calls for a public enquiry with concerns over the transparency of the whole process.
Commenting on today's report and his constituents response Greg Mulholland said;
"The report itself leaves important questions unanswered and I feel that there is a strong case for holding a full public enquiry. The survivors, the families of victims and the general public all deserve a full disclosure of how the 7/7 bombings occurred and what can be done to stop anything similar from happening again.
Mr Mulholland praised emphatically the attitude and resilience of his own community in Leeds for the way they have responded to the July bombings in which two Leeds residents were involved.
"I have nothing but praise for the people of Leeds in their response to the events of July the 7th and how they have gone about getting on with their lives. It was a dark day in the history of our country and also for Leeds itself. The local community is continuing to work together to strengthen its interfaith links to ensure that we are never again faced with such terrible events.
"The people have been truly magnificent, everyone has pulled together to help one another through what has been a very difficult and stressful time for the community.
