MULHOLLAND CONGRATULATES NEW COLLEAGUE ON SENSATIONAL WIN

Greg Mulholland has today congratulated his new Parliamentary colleague, Willie Rennie on his sensational victory in the Dunfermline by-election last night. The new Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament achieved a huge 16% swing against Labour. If this swing was repeated across Great Britain more than 200 Labour seats would fall to the Lib Dems.

Commenting Mr Mulholland on Willie Rennie's victory said:

"I would like to congratulate Willie on his sensational victory.

"It means there is now an even greater voice in Parliament calling for a fairer, greener and more democratic society.

"Labour has lost the confidence of people who supported them for generations.

"It's clear people want a change - but they do not want to go back to the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats are proving themselves as the clear challengers to Labour."
