"Fantastic News for Yorkshire Cricket and Leeds Rugby": Mulholland

Following the recent announcement from the regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, saying that they will provide the much-needed funding for the North/South stand and for a media centre at Headingley Stadium, Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West said:

"I am delighted at the recent decision, which will mean the development of Headingley's already excellent facilities can proceed. Headingley needed the extra investment to continue as one of the most famous sporting grounds, for Cricket and Rugby.

"I am so proud to represent Headingley as the MP for Leeds North West, I was delighted to be in the position to offer my support for the application and I look forward to working with Leeds Rugby and Yorkshire County Cricket Club over the coming years, and to watch the progress of the development with great interest.

"The regional benefit of a hugely successful stadium and sporting facilities are immense, and I believe we can look forward to world class sport at Headingley for years to come."
