October 22, 2007 12:00 AM

Greg Mulholland MP has attended a meeting in Parliament today to discuss the current situation in Pakistan, following the horrific suicide bomb attacks which marred the return of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to country.

Speakers Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, President of Pakistan Muslim League(N) and Former Chief Minister of the Punjab, and Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Senior Advisor to Benazir Bhutto and Former Pakistani High Commissioner to London, addressed the assembled parliamentarians.

Commenting Mr Mulholland said: "It was a very illuminating meeting, and it was a privilege to hear from speakers who provided a real insight into the situation in Pakistan following the devastating suicide attacks at the weekend.

"We can only hope that there is no further violence, and peaceful progress can be made."

If you are a resident of the Leeds North West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
