Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, visited local school Abbey Grange on Friday to talk to 6th formers about parliament, democracy and the life on an MP.
Commenting following the event Greg said:
"I was very pleased to visit the school and have a chance to speak directly to young people about the way our democracy works and what MPs like me actually do!
"I think it is very important that young people know how the decisions taken in Westminster affect their lives, and in turn I was delighted to hear their views on politics and was very impressed with their knowledge of the issues involved."
"I would like to thank Abbey Grange for the invitation to speak and I hope the pupils were able to learn a little about the day to day workings of political life. The day was a huge success, and the staff and children must take a lot of credit for it."
