Leeds MP, and a Shadow Liberal Democrat Minister for Health, Greg Mulholland, met with England cricketer Monty Panesar in Parliament last week at an event organised by Lloydspharmacy to raise awareness of heart health and the importance of early detection of cardio vascular disease (CVD).
The event drew attention to the importance of regular testing to aid in early detection and to awareness of family heart history.
Commenting Mr Mulholland said:
"Millions of people in the UK are at risk of developing cardio vascular disease over the next ten years, so I was very pleased to help to draw attention to this important issue.
"It was also a pleasure of course to meet Monty again, particularly to promote such an excellent cause."
