Leeds MP and Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Rugby League, Greg Mulholland, has tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament recognising and commending Leeds Rhinos' superb victory in the Carnegie World Club Challenge over Australian Rugby League Champions Melbourne Storm at the weekend, and their crowning as best rugby league side in the world.
It was a great occasion for the sport ahead of the World Cup in Australia in the Autumn.
Commenting Greg said:
"I was in the stands at the final on Friday, it was fantastically entertaining and hard fought match and Leeds Rhinos should be congratulated on a superb performance.
"The players showed real flair and courage, despite injury setbacks, and it was a great occasion for the fans.
"I want to extend my congratulations to the Rhinos team, and I am sure that everyone in Leeds will want to do the same."
