Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West praised two charity fundraisers who raised over £500 for Kidz in Kampz, the Holt Park based charity which Greg is patron of.
Lata Parmar and Shirley Mackenzie who both work at the DWP at Lawnswood, five minutes drive from the Kidz in Kampz shop did a sponsored bungee jump of the Magna building in Rotherham ( a height of 160ft).
Greg who accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity said "I'm really grateful to Lata and Shirley for their efforts. The money they have raised will go a long way and make a real difference to so many children on the Burmese-Thai border."
Kidz in Kampz supports the educational and welfare needs of vulnerable children in camps for displaced people along the Thai-Burmese borders. They have a charity shop in Holt Park just behind the ASDA and all donations are gratefully welcomed.
Greg added "Kidz in Kampz is a wonderful charity that does fantastic work. Their little shop just down the road from my office has plenty of bargains so I would recommend people go along and see what they can find at the same time as raising money for this local charity."
