MULHOLLAND THE JUDGE IN CHARITY PAINTING COMPETITION

June 20, 2008 1:21 AM

Local MP Greg Mulholland recently judged a children's painting competition at the British Heart Foundation shop in Otley.

Greg chose Sam Cowley aged 10 from Burley-in-Wharfedale as the winner of the competition.

The charity shop in Otley organised the painting competition as part of a national campaign to raise money for new heart monitors. Children paid £1 to enter the competition which was open to primary school children in the Wharfedale area.

Greg said "it was great to come and see the work done by the children for a really good cause, the children had obviously put a lot of effort into the competition so it was a tough choice."

"The British Heart Foundation is a really good charity that does very important work I would also like to pay tribute to the staff in the shop in Otley who do a fantastic job. I really would recommend people go along and support the charity."

If you are a resident of the Leeds North West constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
