Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West and Liberal Democrat Older People's Spokesperson, has expressed his support for the 2008 UK Older Peoples Day. It is a chance to celebrate the huge contribution that older people make to families and communities everywhere.
The theme for this year's Older People's Day is all about bringing generations together.
Mr. Mulholland said:
"Elderly people make a very large and important contribution to society and the 2008 Older People's Day is a great way to celebrate this fact.
As the Liberal Democrat's Older People's Spokesman and a local MP, I have been fighting for Elderly people in Westminster and also locally. It is vital as a society we look after our older people with dignity. A lot more needs to done and I hope Older People's day will raise the profile of many of the issues effecting older people."
