Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has written to the local Police inspector demanding more police on patrol in Headingley after a spate of car crime in Headingley. Five cars have been broken into on Headingley Avenue alone this week.
Greg said "I have written to the inspector to ask if they can put more police on the street particularly on and around Headingley Avenue. I understand that the Police have difficult job and their resources are stretched but this recent spate of car crime is particularly worrying.
Putting more bobbies on the beat has proved to be the most effective way of deterring crime such as the ones reported on Headingley Avenue, so I hope we will see more foot patrols in the near future."
