Today at the work and pensions committee evidence session into the new commissioning strategy for the Government's programmes to get people back into work, Greg Mulholland questioned Serco, The Wise Group and A4e about experience they have learned from their involvement in the sector.
Greg asked if the plans would really deliver choice for job seekers when the Government planned to allocate people to suppliers on a 50:50 basis.
He also asked about transitional arrangements to the new system, especially in light of the recession which will see number of people out of work and claiming jobseekers allowance rocket, and all three witnesses expressed real concern that the Dept for Work & Pensions had not made an announcement on this.
