NEW DRUGS DEAL WELCOME BUT STILL DOES NOT DELIVER THE REAL CHANGE NEEDED

Commenting on yesterday's deal between the Government and the pharmaceutical industry, Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Health and Member of Parliament for Leeds Northwest, Greg Mulholland said:

"We must ensure that medicines that are available to the rest of Europe are also available here.

"I welcome this new deal, but it is not enough to guarantee that all patients will have access to the medicines that they need.

"We need whole scale reform of this process not tinkering around the edges, so that unnecessary delays become a thing of the past."
