Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has written to police chiefs to ask them to step up patrols in Wharfedale after a spate of burglaries recently. 12 homes were burgled in a 24 hour period across Wharfedale. Thieves targeted homes during the early evening period when it was dark, but residents were still to get home from work.
Greg said "I have asked the police to increase dusk patrols to try and deter these types of attacks and to re-assure local people. A visible police presence, alongside tougher sentences for criminals are the best ways, I believe to combat these types of crime.
I know many local residents are concerned after this spate of attacks and I hope the Police catch those responsible as soon as possible."
