MPS WHO MISAPPROPRIATE ALLOWANCES SHOULD BE SACKED - MULHOLLAND

Commenting in the wake of today's announcement by the House of Commons Standards and Privileges Committee, Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has said that proper sanctions should be introduced against MPs who use the allowances system inappropriately.

Greg said:

"At least there is some action on misappropriation of MPs allowances, but in any other walk of life, you would be sacked straight away for this kind of thing.

"It is time for proper sanctions in Parliament to get rid of the kind of abuse that keeps hitting the headlines and does such damage to it's reputation"
