Otley Town Council has been recognised for its professionalism and role as a community leader by the award of Quality Parish Status. Quality Parish Status is awarded by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).
Otley Town Council leader, Jim Spencer, said;
"We are very pleased to receive this recognition for the hard work the council has been doing to improve the way it works for Otley residents. It will help us continue that work and will make a real difference in negotiations with Leeds City Council and other local and regional institutions".
"We are always looking at ways the council can improve and we will continue to work hard to make sure we are serving the people of Otley as well as we possibly can."
Leeds North West MP, Greg Mulholland congratulated the Town Councillors adding:
"I am very pleased that the hard work of Town Councillors has been recognised in this way. They have done a really good job for Otley and I know that they are determined to continue carrying that forward".
