YORKSHIRE RIPPER MUST NEVER BE FREED - MULHOLLAND

In response to reports that the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe is fit to be released from Broadmoor High Security Hospital and speculation that this could be a key stepping stone to Sutcliffe securing a release from custody altogether, Greg Mulholland MP has said that serial murderers like Sutcliffe must never be set free.

Greg is the constituency MP for Headingley where Jacqueline Hill, the final of Sutcliffe's 13 victims, was brutally murdered.

Commenting Greg said:

"Peter Sutcliffe was one of the worst serial killers that this country has ever seen, he cannot and he must not be freed, now or ever.

"If he were it would be a complete slap in the face to the families and loved ones of his victims, not to mention sending an entirely wrong message.

"Life should mean life, especially when an individual has committed such horrific and callous acts."
