MULHOLLAND TAKES PART IN PARLIAMENTARY LAUNCH FOR NATIONAL PUB DAY

Greg Mulholland MP , Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group today joined Inez Ward of Justice for Licensees and Save the Great British Pub to launch the first ever National Pub Day this Saturday 4th April .

National Pub Day is the idea of the Save the British Pub group. The Save the Pub APPG has tabled an Early Day Motion celebrating it.
Commenting, Greg said:
"I am delighted that the Save the Great British Pub group launched this initiative. It is great that we have a day on which we can celebrate pubs as a nation and I hope people will support it by going to the pub.
Pubs play an important role in our heritage and culture. They are a focal point for communities and they provide a sociable environment where people can drink responsibly. It is only right that we should celebrate such a great national institution.
With so many pubs facing closure we need to recognise their importance and do all we can to support them during these difficult times."
