'GREEN LANE AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW' - MULHOLLAND

Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland was today joined by the Secretary of State for the Environment and Climate Change Ed Milliband in congratulating Green Lane in winning the 2008 Green Streets competition sponsored by British Gas.

Commenting, Greg said;

"I asked the Secretary of State to join with me in congratulating Green Lane on their success last year.

With this years competition now underway it seemed this was an ideal opportunity to recognise the residents achievements when during last years competition they managed to reduce their energy output by over 35%."

I am delighted that Ed Milliband agreed with me that there were lessons that other streets up and down the country could learn from the residents of Green Lane."
