MULHOLLAND ASKS COUNCILS TO SUPPORT YORKSHIRE POST CAMPAIGN FOR HIGH SPEED RAIL

Greg Mulholland the Liberal Democrat MP for Leeds North West has written to all the major city councils in Yorkshire asking that they join with him in supporting the Yorkshire Post's 'Fast Track to Yorkshire' campaign.

Greg commented:

"High speed rail is vital for the economic prosperity of our entire region.

For this reason I have written to the Leaders of all the big councils in Yorkshire asking that they support this campaign and telling them why I feel high speed rail is so important.

With the support of all the region's councils it is my hope that the Government will finally start taking this issue seriously and announce proposals to build a high speed rail link directly between London and Yorkshire."
