"Is the road through the centre of Otley the most dug up road in Britain?" - Mulholland

Local MP Greg Mulholland has today written to the head of Highways at Leeds City Council to complain that yet again road works are causing chaos in the centre of Otley.

Greg Commented:

"Time and time again we see Gay Lane, Bondgate and Kirkgate being dug up, causing chaos in the centre of town and damaging local trade.

"The people of Otley are rightly concerned that their town is so regularly disrupted in this way and I feel that the Highways department must make more of a commitment to ensure that such disruption is kept to a minimum.

"Local businesses have complained to me that they weren't informed before hand of the works, this is clearly unacceptable when you think of the disruption to trade that they are being asked to regularly undergo.
