Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has spoken of his immense frustration over
the poor handling of the student loans crisis on the part of the Government.
Greg has been one of the most vocal MPs in holding the Government to account on this
issue and has signed EDM 2030 criticising the Student Loans Company
Commenting on the situation Greg said:
"This simply isn't good enough, because of this lack of funding students are being
forced to live under very difficult circumstances. The recession has already
stretched resources at many universities, which are now at breaking point.
"The Student Loans Company has failed to address the very shortcomings it was
invented to cure. The current situation has led to many students being unable to
afford necessities like food, let alone materials important and appropriate to the
courses they are undertaking.
"I have written to the Minister David Lammy to express the frustration that many
students in my constituency have spoken to me about."
