Greg Mulholland, Member of Parliament for Leeds North West and Member of the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group has been amongst the MPs leading efforts in Parliament to secure a place for the Challenge Cup final on free to air TV.
Most recently Greg has seconded EDM 48 (Tabled by Neil Turner MP) calling for the final to be on free to air TV and for the recommendations of the Davies Committee to be ignored.
Commented, Greg said:
"Rugby League is not only played but is hugely popular in every nation of the United Kingdom.
"It is really disrespectful for it to be treated any different from the other major sports and I hope the Government will realise this in spite of the flawed findings of the Davies Committee.
"Sporting events of such importance should be readily available to those who are unable to physically attend the game - at no extra cost."
