Mulholland sticks up for staff at Lawnswood

Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has written to the Secretary of State for Children Schools and Families Ed Balls following criticism of Lawnswood School in an Ofsted report.

Despite achieving excellent exam results Ofsted was marked down after 1.3% of parents surveyed said they did not think pupil safety was taken seriously enough at the school.

Commented, Greg said:

"I take pupil safety as seriously as anyone but I really think that Ofsted have allowed the concerns of a small minority of parents to completely overshadow all the great achievements of the school.

"I have written to Ed balls to inform him that I am not happy about the way Ofsted have conducted themselves during this process.

"I have also written to the Head Master of Lawnswood, Milan Davidovich, to congratulate him on the excellent results and to thank him for the positive role Lawnswood plays in our community."
