Otley's MP Greg Mulholland has today made presentations to the Town Council about his vision for the future of tourism in the town an initiative called Otley 2015.
This follows Greg a few weeks ago calling on Leeds City Council to give power and budget for marketing and tourism to Otley.
Mr Mulholland had discovered through a series of letters and research that no strategy or budget for marketing and tourism currently exists, which has been deemed extraordinary and completely unacceptable by the MP.
Greg, who before he became an MP was a marketing professional, commented:
"It is great that there have improvements in promoting Otley and with very limited resources, the Town Council Tourism sub Committee and the Town Partnership Marketing Group have being doing a great job.
"We do now need a new initiative to deliver an achievable vision for making Otley a destination for visitors and to do that we must transform the tourism and marketing of Otley and that is why I have proposed the 'Otley 2015' initiative.
