Yorkshire and the East Must not be Left Behind - Mulholland

Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has responded to today's announcement by the Government on the future of High Speed Rail.

The Government have chosen to follow the recommendations of "High Speed 2" which propose a single line between London and Birmingham, with the decision over the connection to the North still to be made.

Commenting Greg said:

"I am glad that our campaigning for Yorkshire has been taken into serious consideration by the Government.

"While I am delighted that Lord Adonis has acknowledged Yorkshire as an important aspect of his considerations, his proposals appear to favour the West.

"We will continue to fight for this important cause and I urge all Yorkshire MPs to join me in continuing to ruthlessly campaign for a Yorkshire connection to the High Speed Rail."
