Greg Celebrates With Residents
Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West spent Thursday afternoon in the company of residents and children from Moorland Road and Hospital Lane, celebrating the roads reduction in speed limit from 60mph to 30mph.
The decision from Leeds City Council came after a protest staged by Greg and residents in which they replaced de-restricted road signs with improvised 30mph signs made by resident children.
Commenting Greg said:
"I am delighted that Leeds City Council Executive Board have approved the introduction of a 30mph speed limit.
"The residents and I have been pursuing this matter for years and it took media attention on our inventive protest to finally bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion.
"This is a massive victory and I look forward to residents having peace of mind when their children play out from now on."
