Greg Mulholland MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub group, will meet with the Pubs Minister, the Rt. Hon. John Healy to discuss the urgent issues that are currently facing the British pubs trade.
The Government appointed John Healy to the position of Minister for Pubs last February in response to the growing concerns around the country about the difficulties currently facing the pub trade.
The Save the Pub Group welcomed his appointment and immediately set about organising an appointment for Greg and a delegation from the group to make representations to the minister on behalf of the trade.
Commenting, Greg said:
"I am delighted that the Pubs Minister has agreed to meet with members of the Save the Pub Group to discuss what we see as the major challenges facing pubs in the UK.
"The appointment of a minister for Pubs shows that the government has begun to take seriously the plight of an industry that holds such a special place in the fabric of British culture.
"I hop that the Pubs Minister will take on board the recommendations by the Save the Pub members who have continuously campaigned on behalf of those who work within the pubs trade across Britain."
