Greg with Wayne Green of Whitakers and Phil Douglas of Black Sheep
"Cask Ale Week is a great opportunity to celebrate our national drink and I was delighted to be asked to pull the first pint of Golden Sheep in Whitaker's in Otley.
"It was great to have Phil Dixon, the head brewer there and Golden Sheep is the 200th Ale that Whitaker's have put on. Black Sheep have done a lot to support towns and villages in Yorkshire and it was great to have them in Otley, supporting one of our excellent local pubs.
"Sales of real ale continue to grow and I hope that Cask Ale Week will get even more people trying our national drink in pubs up and down the country".
Wayne Green, Landlords of Whitakers added:
"It seems only fitting that in a difficult time for the trade, with cask ale being one of the very few growing trends, that we mark the event with a local brewer who is having a nationwide impact with a range of fabulous products."
David Croft from Black Sheep brewery concluded:
"It was great to be able to spend the night at Whitakers and celebrate national Cask Ale Week. We our particularly delighted that Wayne and Mel chose our recently reintroduced Golden Sheep brew to celebrate the occasion and would like to thank them for their hospitality."
