Before Christmas residents of Clarion Field Caravan Park recently approached Greg Mulholland MP and Otley and Yeadon Cllr Ryk Downes to complain about the lack of a bus service to the caravan park.
Both Greg and Ryk campaigned successfully for the introduction of a bus service to the caravan park and Ryk even proposed the diversion to an existing route that was eventually adopted by the bus operator.
Greg Mulholland commented:
"Residents of Clarion Field were cut off from public transport and wanted to be able to get to Otley to do their shopping",
Cllr Ryk Downes added
"With the introduction of the new 967 service from TLC that Goes Menston-Otley-Pool-Airport I suggested that it be diverted twice a day passed Clarion Field Caravan Park to allow residents their to get to and from Otley. I am pleased to say that bus operator TLC agreed".
The 967 will operate via Clarion Field in the East bound direction Mon - Sat as follows; 1052 ex Menston (approx 1055 at Clarion Field) arrives Otley 11:01 : 13:37 ex Otley arrives at Clarion Field (via Menston) approx 13:55, giving residents two and half hours in Otley over lunch.
Greg Mulholland concluded:
"I am delighted that we were able to help the residents get their bus service back"
