Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg today rolled into Headingley with his Battle Bus to join local MP Greg Mulholland and members of the Leeds Rugby Foundation to launch the Lib Dems regional manifesto, A Fair Deal for Yorkshire.
The Leeds Rugby Foundation is the Leeds Rhino's charitable trust and supports roughly 50,000 kids a year through a partnership with approximately 100 schools.
The pair of politicians played a game of touch rugby with kids from the foundation.
Greg Mulholland commented:
"This was a great visit, bags of fun and a good opportunity to let everyone know how seriously the lib dems are taking Yorkshire.
"Time after time Yorkshire has ranked bottom of the current Government's list of priorities especially in terms of much needed investment, it's time we sorted a fair deal for Yorkshire.
"I also want to give a big thanks to Gary Hetherington and all the team here at Headingley Stadium, the work that Rugby League foundations like this do to support almost 500,000 kids across the country."
