Liberal Democrat campaigner for Leeds North West, Greg Mulholland, has invited local residents to join him in opposing a proposed development on the green belt land north of Holt Avenue.
Greg has written to local residents expressing his disapproval at the current Government targets for housing plot developments and suggested they join him in lobbying the Department for Communities and Local Government for a change in the law by signing his petition.
Greg Mulholland commented:
"Local people are being asked to sacrifice a beautiful stretch of Greenbelt land in the name of commercial development.
"The recession means that Leeds City Council has struggled to meet the demands of the national targets set by DCLG, which is why a flawed proposal like this might be approved by a National Planning Inspectorate.
"I hope residents will sign my petition and join me in pressing for a change in the law and a rejection for this particular proposal."
