Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West has taken the fight to keep the City of Leeds School open to parliament by tabling a motion objecting to the closure.
Campaigners have been fighting to keep the school open on the grounds of the valuable service it provides to the surrounding community.
Commenting Greg Said:
"City of Leeds School has had to face recurring speculation about it's future, which in itself must be damaging morale at the school and affecting results.
"Many of my own constituents rely on the school which has excellent provision for dealing with the diverse range of students who attend.
"Closure of the school would also damage the balance of the surrounding community as a local school is vital to attract young families into the area."
