Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West today spoke in Parliament of the importance of specialist children's heart surgeons to the city of Leeds.
Speaking during Business Questions Greg expressed concern over plans to close some children's heart surgery units in England and focus the procedures at fewer, larger centres and pointed out the vital importance of the centre in Leeds.
Commenting Greg said:
"The review is ongoing and the important thing is to make sure no body has to travel miles and miles to receive this type of service.
"Leeds is one of the biggest cities in the North and I am only to happy to lend my support to keep a children's heart surgery unit in Leeds."
