Greg with the team from WharfeBank Brewery
Greg Mulholland MP, accompanied by England cricketer Craig White, officially opened WharfeBank Brewery in Pool last Friday during an afternoon of brewery tours and ale sampling.
As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group and CAMRA Parliamentary Campaigner of the Year, Greg was thrilled to open the new addition to the Leeds brewing industry.
Commenting Greg said:
"I was absolutely delighted to open the new WharfeBank Brewery. This is great news for beer lovers but also for the area.
"I am very excited to have an excellent new brewery in the constituency, brewing a range of great beer, and really pleased to see it is now being served in a number of local pubs.
"There is real Yorkshire brewing heritage here with Ian Smith being a former head brewer of Tetley's and I am sure WharfeBank will be a big success and will really put the area on the beer map."
Commenting Martin Kellaway said:
"The launch part was a great success and it was fantastic to see so many people come to the Brewery and to have the support of Greg, licensees and local CAMRA members amongst others.
"We're finding that our beers are growing in popularity day-by-day and we'll continue to brew exciting beers that people will seek out and enjoy!"
