Greg Mulholland-Working Hard For Leeds North WestMulholland completes Jane Tomlinson Appeal 10th Anniversary challenge

Member of Parliament for Leeds North West, Greg Mulholland, has completed the gruelling Jane Tomlinson 10th Anniversary Challenge, conceived to mark Jane being the first terminally ill cancer patient to complete the London Marathon, completing the final leg on Sunday, the London Marathon, in a time of 3 Hours 42 minutes.
Greg joined Mike and Rebecca Tomlinson, along with a team including four time Ironman champion, Chrissie Wellington, in taking on an 8 days challenge. Greg completed the Paris marathon in 3 hours 31 minutes, before embarking on the epic cycle from Paris to London via Hull and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal's home turf of Yorkshire. Having arrived in London on Saturday evening, and despite the previous 6 days exertion, Greg then took on the London Marathon, completing it in an impressive time of 3 hours 42 minutes.
Greg has been raising money for The Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Kidz in Kampz, and The Leeds Rugby Foundation.
Greg has been backed in the challenge by a number of local businesses: 2 View Properties, Hamara Healthy Living Centre, Up and Running, Evans Cycles, jet2.com and Lucozade.
Greg commented:
"I am absolutely delighted to have completed to Jane Tomlinson 10th Anniversary challenge.
"This was without doubt the toughest challenge I have ever taken on and despite the terrible weather conditions, as well as having to battle through a nasty cold, as a team, we were able to work together to get ourselves over the finish line on the Mall on Sunday.
"The thought of all the money we were raising for these fantastic causes undoubtedly kept us going, as did the thoughts of Jane, who has inspired so many in completing similarly amazing feats of endurance.
"Whilst this was an amazing experience and one that I will not be forgetting in a hurry, I'm not sure I will be sticking my hand up volunteering to take part in any more of Mike Tomlinson's challenges any time soon!"
Mike commented:
"This day 10 years ago changed Jane's life and changed our lives as well. There's no way we would be here if it wasn't for Jane.
"She battled so hard and so long, we wanted to celebrate today by being here and doing a bit of an extraordinary challenge ourselves."
