Member of Parliament for Leeds North West Greg Mulholland, met with teachers, students and representatives of Leeds City Council at Weetwood Primary School last Friday for the launch of the school's new rooftop solar panels.
This is just the latest innovation from the school who implement a sustainable food, waste, water, travel and buildings policy as well as encouraging their pupil's families to save energy by handing out energy-efficient light bulbs.
Greg Mulholland MP commented:
"I am delighted to see that the installation of the solar panels is now complete. Weetwood Primary School are amazing advocates of preserving our natural resources and also of leading by example when it comes to teaching the next generation the importance of reducing energy usage.
It is an honour to be here today and to see the sheer enthusiasm shown, for this scheme, from pupils and teachers alike. I am incredibly proud to be the Member of Parliament for this inspirational and innovative school."
