Save Our Summercross

Greg is working with the Save Our Summercross campaign and local residents to get the Summercross pub in Otley re-opened. The pub was closed by property developers Chartford Homes against the wishes of the landlord, regulars and the local community.

Greg and SOS successfully fought off Chartford's over intensive plans for housing on this site. Chartford then sold the site on to Westward Care, who have had planning permission granted from Leeds City Council, to replace the pub with a residential care home development. The pub has however sat empty and derelict since its closure in 2007. Despite raising these concerns with Westward Care, Greg was told that the site is still part of the company's city wide plans for care home development.

Greg is backing the campaign to give the community back its pub, the only pub on the east side of Otley and the only Summercross in the UK.
