MP praises another fantastic Yeadon pantomime!

January 24, 2017 1:13 PM

Yeadon MP Greg Mulholland has congratulated performers, stage hands and volunteers for a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at Yeadon Town Hall.

Yeadon Pantomime has been performed since 1939 and this was the 78th production, a superb production of Jack and the Beanstalk, produced as ever by Yeadon Charities Association www.yeadoncharitiesassociation.co.uk

The performance included stunning backdrops, a huge giant and a beanstalk that grew and reached the sky before the audience's eyes as well as great performances, music, direction and dancing.

The pantomime will have further performances until Saturday 28th January, with new show times this year to make it as family friendly as possible.

Yeadon Charities Association are also breaking new ground this year thrilled to announce that we are one of the first amateur groups in the country to be holding a relaxed performance of our pantomime this year. Yeadon Charities Association are staging a Relaxed & Signed performance on Wednesday 25th January. Relaxed Performances are specially modified to make them easier for many people who find conventional trips to the theatre difficult, including people with additional needs. The house lights are dimmed but still lit so the auditorium isn't in darkness and the sound effects and music are quietened. There's also a more relaxed atmosphere - shouting out and singing along being part of the fun!

See www.yeadoncharitiesassociation.co.uk/relaxed-performance for more details.

Yeadon pantoCommenting, Greg said:

"The Yeadon pantomime at Yeadon Town Hall is always a pleasure to attend, a real highlight of the year for people of all ages including me and my family. This year was an especially impressive performance of Jack and the Beanstalk which had the audience enthralled.

"My congratulations go to all involved in the performance and the organisation, from the actors, musicians and dancers to the backstage team, to the organisers and to the team of Yeadon Charities Association volunteers who work so hard to make it happen and greet people with big smiles on the night.

"Community groups like Yeadon Charities Association do wonderful work and are so important to many people in Yeadon and going to the pantomime really is a wonderful way to support them but also a sheer pleasure to attend, seeing everyone's hard work culminating in such a fantastic show, well done to all!"
