Reaction to the tragic death of Sorrell Leczkowski.

May 24, 2017 6:16 PM

"It is devastating news that Sorrell Leczkowski, 14, from Adel, was one of the victims of the terrorist atrocity on Monday in Manchester. My deepest condolences to her family and friends both in Adel and at Allerton High School."

"This dreadful event has affected Manchester but also many other communities in the country and the whole community of Adel and people across Leeds will be mourning the loss of Sorrell. To make this unbearable tragedy even worse, Sorrell's Mother Samantha and Grandmother Pauline are among the injured and they too are in our thoughts and prayers, as are the whole family." Candles

"I know that the community here will work together to support the family at this most awful time. Friends have already set up crowdfunding sites to help the family and I know people will support them. As we have seen since the attacks, in Manchester, here in Leeds and across the country, our communities are strongest when they come together and I know people in Adel will do all they can to support the family."

"I have also written to the Secretary of State for Justice, to ask what support will be made available to support those families who have lost loved ones. I and others will continue to offer any support that we can."
